Apave is looking for a for an experienced Welding/Structural QC Inspector (Resident) (M/F) for Apave Interservices Inspection, a subsidiary of the Apave Group specialising in major industrial projects in France and internationally.

We’re looking for an experienced Welding/Structural QC Inspector to join the quality team of a major offshore wind farm project, supervising the fabrication of an offshore substation jacket in Belgium.

In practical terms, what will your day-to-day role involve?

Your mission :

✅ Review quality plans, ITPs and procedures, and witness inspections

✅ Verify welding consumables, material traceability, calibration and personnel qualifications

✅ Make sure NDT activities follow approved procedures and that results conform

✅ Follow up NCRs and corrective actions through to closure

✅ Monitor QA/QC dossiers and mechanical completion documentation

✅ Check compliance with structural drawings and standards

✅ Plan and coordinate inspections (welding, structural, coating, FAT) with the fabricator

✅ Ensure findings from site walkthroughs and ITP inspections are properly logged and closed on time

✅ Verify mechanical completion against the schedule and support the final handover

✅ Support the QC lead in the lessons learned process and coordinate the other inspectors

Key Mission Details :

📍 Location: Hoboken, Antwerp area (main base), with occasional travel to satellite factories in Belgium and Poland

📅 Start: December 2026

🧑‍🔧 Role: Resident inspector, main focal point for welding and structural QC at the fabrication factories

🔎Let’s talk about you!

• Firstly, your background:

🛠Degree, technical diploma or equivalent

🔹 8–10 years of QC/QA experience, including at least 5 years in similar inspection roles

Next, your skills and personal qualities.

Welding and NDT qualifications to a recognised international standard (certificates valid for 2026/2027)

🔹 Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1/D1.5, ISO 15614, ISO 3834 and EN 1090

🔹 Experience with EPC contractor organisations on large-scale construction projects

🔹 Fluent English and Dutch/Flemish (French is a plus)

🔹 Experience in offshore, marine or heavy steel structure fabrication (jackets, foundations, substations)

🔹 Local profile highly recommended

Nice to have: coating skills (e.g. Frosio II, ISO 12944) and punch-list management

Soft skills: team player in a multicultural environment, able to challenge and influence contractors constructively, rigorous and reliable.
